About the Art:
Inspired by Camille St. Saen's work of the same title, the violin has a
swan, monkey, chickens, fish, lion, mule, and other animals dancing
in a festival setting.
About the Artist:
Connie Desaulniers specializes in acrylic painting on canvas, and also explores combining other media, such as glass,
mirrors, board, clay and mosaic, for a three-dimensional effect. With her artwork, she likes to tweak the viewer's
imagination to elicit a response. Almost all of Connie's color-saturated paintings contain a bit of fantasy or humor.
A 1975 graduate of the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in Fine arts, Connie spent the next 28 years focusing
on a marketing career that started at Busch Gardens and culminated with her own business, By Design Marketing and Promotions.
During that time painting was part hobby and part therapy, and she developed a body of work that enabled her to have a successful
show at the Nancy Thomas Gallery in 1999. In 2002 she decided to "See the Forest for the Trees" (inspiring a painting by the same name)
and resigned many of her marketing clients so she could focus on creating art.
