Mary Wetmore - The Magic of Music

About the Art:
An older gentleman and a young girl are playing violins while fairies flit about and ride the "rainbows" of music (sound) issuing from their instruments.

About the Artist:
Mary is a native of Michigan and lived in places as far apart as Alaska and Tunisia before moving to Virginia. She is proficient in many media, including quilting, painting, dollmaking, and pottery. She has studied with world-renowned dollmakers and has developed a whimsical fantasy style. Her colorful and pictorial art quilts have won awards. She is a painting student of Barclay Sheaks and recently had a solo show at the Trellis Restaurant. Her works are available locally at Kinks, Quirks and Caffeine, and she occasionally takes on mural painting commissions.
